Gun Violence in T.O.
In 2005, the issue of gun violence received massive media attention and it made its way onto the political agenda. Guns have always been around but it was portrayed as a "street youth" problem, as a problem only in the "ghetto projects" or "hoods". Finally, this issue is getting the coverage it needs but where will the activists focus their energy?
How do YOU think the problem of gun violence in the city can be addressed, reduced, or solved? (Remember: realistically, the government does not have enough funds to do a combination of things. Their efforts need to be heavily concentrated in one area to make an impactful difference!)
1. More police officers!
2. Gun violence is not really a problem.
3. Invest more dollars into programs and services for youth.
4. We need stricter gun control laws.
5. The gun violence thing doesn't concern me.
