THE CHURCH OF GOD SABBATH-KEEPING
Reaching the World, One Soul at a Time!

MISSION STATEMENT

The Women's Ministry is focused on helping women grow in their God-given roles and to encourage and exhort one another toward maturity in Christ. Our desire is to provide women with the opportunity to grow in their walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. We do this by offering home bible studies, fellowship, and other activities that will draw them closer to God and closer to each other.

The objective is to help women mature spiritually by grounding them in God's Word, by providing opportunities to build relationships with other women, and by offering ways in which they may serve the Lord. In this way they can be examples of His love to their family, friends, co-workers and to the community and truly become a Woman of God.

Within our Women's Ministry, we have 2 groups that are geared to specific needs and people. The first one is the "Daughter's of Zion" and the second one is the "Women of Virtue".

The Daughter's of Zion help to prepare women for ministry and to recognize what their gifts are in order to use them for God's glory. We also visit the elderly and those that are not able to travel to a church; we bring the service to them. Another important area that is discussed and studied is courting; understanding what is in God's will for his children and the guidelines to follow while seeking for a mate.

The Women of Virtue teaches about the Proverbs 31 woman. How to lead a balanced christian and family life, Understanding the womans role in the home, How to be a christian wife, as God intended,  in the 21st century and helping women to develop an intimate relationship with the Almighty God....

Thanks to all who attended and participated in our 11th annual women's conference.  We are praying that you received great blessings and the theme will continue to resonate with you as you continue to embrace a "Time to Worship".

Don’t Sell Yourself Short

Don't ever sell yourself short, girls...

In a brief conversation, a man asked a woman he was pursuing the question “What kind of man are you looking for?" She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye and asking,

"Do you really want to know?"

Reluctantly, he said, "Yes." She began to expound... "As a woman in this day and age, I am in a position to ask a man what he can do for me that I can't do for myself. I pay my own bills. I take care of my household without the help of any man...or woman for that matter. I am in the position to ask, “What can you bring to the table?" The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money. She quickly corrected his thought and stated, "I am not referring to money.

"I need something more. I need a man who is striving for perfection in every aspect of life. " He sat back in his chair, folded his arms, and asked her to explain. She said, "I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection mentally because I need conversation and mental stimulation. I don't need a simple-minded man. I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection spiritually because I don't need to be unequally yoked... believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe for disaster. I need a man who is striving for perfection financially because I don't need a financial burden. I am looking for someone who is sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a woman, but strong enough to keep me grounded. I am looking for someone who I can respect. In order to be submissive, I must respect him. I cannot be submissive to a man who isn't taking care of his business. I have no problem being submissive...he just has to be worthy. God made woman to be a helpmate for man. I can't help a man if he can't help himself. When she finished her spill, she looked at him. He sat there with a puzzled look on his face. He said, "You are asking a lot.

"She replied, "I'm worth a lot."

Question: Does God call women to ministry?

Answer:

The answer is an emphatic YES! And when women are called, they are empowered for ministry by the Holy Spirit. This same “incomparably great power” raised Christ from the dead (Ephesians -21) and has also raised up leaders for the church from every walk of life and every generation! So, if your gifts have been confirmed or identified and you sense God leading you to ministry, be encouraged! Celebrate your call! God is at work in you, so be “confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:5-7). This is a great adventure! You do not stand alone. Read on to learn more about how your call is affirmed through scripture, by God, by early church leaders, and in the Church of God.” —Krysta Dancy

Question: What are some Bible passages that support a woman’s call to ministry?

Answer:

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God, he created him; male and female he created them.” —Genesis 1:27, NIV (emphasis added)

“I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.” —Joel 2:28-29 & Acts 2:17-18 (Peter quoting Joel explaining Pentecost event; emphasis added.)

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” —Galatians 3:28, NIV (emphasis added)

These verses support that women along with men are created in the image of God, are elevated (along with Greeks and slaves)  as servants of God, and are empowered by the Holy Spirit to work hand in hand in the ministry.
